The soccer ball cufflinks are handcrafted using the
actual materials used to make soccer balls. Much time was spent to carefully
shape the soccer ball material into the classic hexagon soccer pattern and to
fit it inside the sterling silver plated cufflink blanks.
Nearly all soccer balls are made from synthetic leather. They used to be made
from real animal skin, but this leather would absorb so much water from the
playing surface, the ball would become too heavy. The soccer ball cufflinks are
made from the actual materials used to make soccer balls – urethane based
synthetic leather.
The cufflinks themselves are plated with sterling silver. They are 18mm wide,
about the size of a dime. They are nickel-free and lead-free. They have a
smooth, scratch-free, mirror like appearance.
